About Our Story

We're not your typical gym. We built something different here in Vancouver - a place where altitude meets attitude and strength flows through every breath.

Meet The Team

Real people who've been where you are, pushing limits and figuring out what actually works when it comes to getting stronger.

Jordan Chen

Jordan Chen

Founder & Head Coach

Started this whole thing after spending five years training athletes at elevation camps in the Rockies. Got tired of seeing people struggle with generic programs that didn't account for how bodies actually adapt to stress. Now I spend my days helping folks discover what they're really capable of when you mix altitude simulation with proper recovery.

Maya Rodriguez

Maya Rodriguez

Yoga & Mobility Director

Came from a competitive powerlifting background before my body basically screamed at me to slow down. Discovered that strength without mobility is just waiting for an injury to happen. Now I teach people how to move better so they can lift heavier and actually enjoy doing it. Turns out breathing properly changes everything.

Marcus Thompson

Marcus Thompson

Performance & Nutrition Coach

Spent way too long chasing the perfect diet before realizing nutrition isn't about perfection, it's about consistency and actually enjoying your food. I help people figure out what fuels their training without turning eating into a second job. Also really into HIIT programming that doesn't destroy you for three days afterwards.

Sarah Kim

Sarah Kim

Outdoor Programs Lead

Grew up hiking the North Shore mountains and figured out that some of the best training happens outside these four walls. I run our adventure fitness programs - think trail running prep, backcountry conditioning, and getting people ready for whatever wild plans they've got cooking. Nothing beats fresh air and real terrain for building functional strength.

Our Journey

Here's how we went from an idea scribbled on a napkin to what we've got going on today.

2017 - The Beginning

Where it all started

Jordan opened the doors with just 800 square feet and a vision. Literally had six kettlebells, a pull-up bar, and one altitude simulator we managed to score used. Started with early morning sessions for mountain athletes who needed somewhere serious to train during off-season.

2019 - Expansion & Philosophy Shift

Growing pains and breakthroughs

Moved to our current Granville location and tripled our space. This's when Maya joined and we realized we'd been missing a huge piece - recovery and mobility. Added our yoga studio and cryotherapy setup. Started understanding that pushing hard means nothing if you can't recover properly.

2021 - Taking It Outside

Beyond the walls

Sarah convinced us that we needed to get people outdoors. Launched our adventure fitness programs with weekend trail sessions and mountain conditioning camps. Turned out a lot of folks were training for real-world adventures, not just gym PRs. This changed how we think about functional fitness completely.

2023 - Dialing In The Details

Refining the approach

Brought Marcus on board to really nail down the nutrition and recovery side. Added our full cryotherapy suite and contrast therapy pools. Started seeing members hit goals they'd been chasing for years once we got their recovery dialed in. Sometimes the magic isn't in training harder, it's in recovering smarter.

2025 - Where We're At Now

Present day

We've got over 400 members, a team of eight coaches, and we're still figuring stuff out daily. Added more altitude training zones, expanded our Olympic lifting platforms, and honestly just keep learning what works. The community we've built here is something special - people actually show up for each other, not just their own workouts.

Current facility

Our Promise: We're not here to sell you a perfect transformation or some BS about changing your life in 30 days. We're here to help you get stronger, move better, and maybe surprise yourself with what you can do when you've got the right support and solid programming.

What We Actually Believe

  • Training should prepare you for life, not just look good on Instagram
  • Recovery isn't optional - it's where you actually get stronger
  • Your nutrition should fuel performance without making you miserable
  • Community beats solo motivation every single time
  • Altitude training gives you an edge, but technique still comes first
  • Progress isn't linear - some weeks you crush it, some weeks you just show up
